My name is Henny Hoppenbrouwer. I live with my two female seal point Siamese cats and my other animals in Nijensleek. Because of my love for animals, I started my own cattery in 2002.

This is a reputable cattery, I breed under the supervisions of the NVVK cats club. The kittens each have their pedigree and basic immunisation. The cats get regularly checked by a veterinarian and my adults are checked for FIV, FIP, Leucosis and PRA. Kittens are also checked by the veterinarian and are multiple times dewormed and twice vaccinated for cat flu and feline panleukopenia.

The cattery’s origin: Buri and Shiva

Buri and Shiva were proud parents of 4 litters. He was a great father, who even helped with cleaning the kittens after birth. Later he would train each kitten how to use the toilet, watching over them.
They really were great parents.

One time Shiva even delayed the birth for two days, so I could admire her beautiful kittens from the first day on. Tragically she only reached 12 years of age.
Unlike Buri, she was breeded for her show-like appearence, which made her more fragile that him. Buri was devastated. He needed a new girlfriend in his life, but I didn’t want another modern Siamese cat, for they tend to be more prone to disease and less robust.

That’s when I took great interest in the traditional Siamese cat also referred to as Thai cat.

Since the 7th of January 2014 Doutzen is living with us. She is a reallywell socialized and strong cat from Friesland.
Buri, who still lived as a neutered senior with us, fell in love with her right away, she was such a lovely young lady, he just couldn’t resist her. Sadly, Buri died in an accident right before Doutzens’ first kittens were born in 2016.
Out of this first litter I kept Souwej, who by now is a great mother herself.
I select the fathers of future litters very carefully. They have to be healthy, strong and of course been negatively tested for PRA, as well as my own cats.
I do my very best to prevent inbreeding and to keep the gene pool as healthy as possible which results in healthy and happy kittens which allows them to stay for up to 15-20 years in your company.

The cattery’s name originates from my dog kennel for German shepherds, which was founded in 1994. I wanted my animals to have the same surname “van de Hijkerhoeve”.
The cat ladies are supported by the two “grandpas”, my dogs, a German Shepherd and an Australien Kelpie.

Me and my four-legged friends own a summer residence in Slovakia, where we enjoy the nature with more animal friends (e.g. a donkey and goats).

We hope you enjoy our website!
